In this program you will:

  • examine the challenges of leadership
  • reflect on your current practice and school environment
  • decide on a starting point for improvement
  • learn how to approach whole school planning to achieve the best results for students
  • focus on what matters to your school and develop plans that suit your students and the community
  • maximise resources and expertise within your school.

This will help build a cohesive, high-functioning team to improve your school’s performance.

There are four modules:

  1. Preconditions for whole school improvement.
  2. Identifying the need for change.
  3. Planning to make a difference.
  4. A culture of sustainable change.

There is also pre-module reading.

From this program you will be able to:

  • understand what whole school improvement requires
  • consider your own context and potential for improvement
  • review research about educational change and highly effective schools
  • identify common elements of highly effective teams to meet the improvement challenge
  • understand your role in leading school improvement
  • reflect on personal effectiveness in leading change.
